At approximately 6:15 pm on April 8, 2010, crews were dispatched to Spring Valley Road in Warrington Township for a barn fire.

Upon arrival at the scene, Fire Chief Larry Anderson reported that the structures were fully involved, smoke and flames could be seen for miles.

The high winds and the barns contents of hay and straw contributed to fueling the fire. It took several hours for crews to knock the blaze down and keep it under control.

Over 20 units from York, Cumberland and Adams Counties responded to the call. Tankers had to shuttle water to the fire from a fill site set up at a dry hydrant along Route 74 and Harbold-Atland Road. No animals were lost in the fire and no injuries were reported. The estimated damage cost is $300,000 and the cause of the fire had been determined as electrical. The barn destroyed was one of the largest barns in Warrington Township. The house was built in the 1850's with the barn being built shortly afterwards. The Eisenhour's are planning to rebuild the barn.
