It is with great sadness that we inform you Mary Ellen Slothower passed away this evening after a lengthy battle with dementia. She had been in a separate nursing facility from Jim since suffering a stroke in August. Jim got to see her this afternoon for the first time since then, and she passed shortly after. Once arrangements are made Andy will let us know.

She was truly a wonderful member of our organization and will be sorely missed.

Now that we have all had a few days to reflect, I wanted to reach out and say thank you to the Wellsville Fire Company and all
It’s members for your love and support during grandma’s passing. Thank you to Sandy for handling the food and all the help that was there to serve the luncheon. Thanks to Dean and his crew for directing traffic, and thanks to Larry for leading her last trip thru town with the tanker. You guys have always been family to the Slothower’s. As I said Thursday, you were all like a second group of kids, and the older members like sisters and brothers to grandma and she loved you all. Even though I moved north a few years ago, you are still my family as well. Thanks again for all you have done and continue to do for the community. We could not have given her the send off she deserved without your help.
