Wellsville Fire Company's Rescue 66 has become York County certified. The Line Officers and firefighters worked hard to conform to a long list of requirements to attain this certification. There are 78 different line items for certain hand tools required ranging from axes, pry bars, bolt cutters, flares, different types of jacks, pliers, screw drivers, wrenches, shovels, wedges, and winches just to name a few. We were also required to have ropes and rigging equipment including harnesses, slings, and a basket stretcher. Gas monitors, as well as ladders, generators, lights, fire extinguishers, radios, ventilation fans, lifting air bags, rams, spreaders, cutters, and saws were also included on this extensive list. Medical equipment was also required with everything from bandages to oxygen masks, blood pressure cuffs, backboards, and splinting materials. Thank you to all those who donate to help make these purchases possible to help keep our crews safe and to provide the best possible care when required.
